Bay Days 2019 King and Queen Announced

We are excited to announce that this year's King is Jerry Downey and Tootie (Lois) LeBlanc was crowned Queen.


Jerry grew up in Saxon, WI. He served in the US Army in 1955-1957. He married his wife Karen in 1957 and they moved to Silver Bay where they would raise their 3 children. Jerry started working for Reserve Mining in 1957. He also worked for Cyprus Minerals and Northshore Mining until retiring in 1999.

Jerry's hobbies include fishing, sports, motorcycles and playing cards. Jerry is a big sports fan, he himself was state of Minnesota, "All State Catcher." Not once but twice, in both 1968 and 1973. Jerry has also been honored twice as "Mariner Fan of the Year." You will see Jerry at most Mariner sporting events. Jerry has been a member of the Thunderbird MC for 20 plus years. He has traveled countless miles on his motorcycle all over the United States and Canada.


Tootie (Lois) grew up in Twig, MN and graduated from Proctor in 1955. She married Pat LeBlanc in 1959 and moved to Silver Bay and there they raised 4 sons. Tootie and Pat owned and operated North Shore Oil and Propane from 1960-1999.


Tootie is a member of the "Lois Club" and "Twig 13 Club." Some of her hobbies include playing cards, cribbage, visiting with friends and spending time with her family. She is often entertaining and has a house full of family and friends. Tootie loves people and is full of life! She is always up for some fun!
